Instinct to Intention

Stop leading on default.

Youโ€™re good at what you do. Youโ€™ve earned your position. People rely on you.
So why does leadership still feel inconsistent?

Some days you’re clear, composed, and effective. Other days the same situation throws you off,
and you can’t quite explain why. Thatโ€™s not random. And itโ€™s not unfixable.

THE INVISIBLE PROBLEM

You didn't get here by being average. So why does leadership still feel like you're guessing?

Here’s what most leaders don’t realise: the skills that made you excellent as an individual contributor areย completely differentย from the skills that make you effective as a leader of people.

As an individual contributor, success was obvious. Get the work done. Solve the problem.
Deliver results. You could see what “winning” looked like.

As a leader, success turns slippery. You’re expected toย influence without forcing. Hold standards without being harsh. Build trust while still moving fast. Make decisions that upset someone either way. And somehow, do all of this consistently, regardless of your mood, your team’s mood, or the pressure of the week.

So you do what most capable people do. You adapt by effort. You watch other leaders. You copy what seems to work. You become more careful. Or more intense. Or more accommodating. Or more direct.

Sometimes it works. Sometimes it backfires. And the frustrating part is, you can’t always explain why.

That inconsistency runs deeper than a character flaw or a skill gap. And the longer it stays unnamed, the more it costs you. Not in one clean moment. In a hundred small ones, across decisions, conversations, and people who needed you to be clearer than you were. Itโ€™s something specific, and once you can name it, you can do something about it.

WHAT IT COSTS YOU

This doesn't blow up overnight.
It leaks.

The cost of leading on instinct alone isn’t dramatic. It’s slow, steady, and expensive, and most of it is invisible until it isn’t.

01

You lose time to your own head

Replaying conversations. Drafting the same message three times. Sitting on a decision you'd normally make without thinking. You get to the end of the day having done a lot without actually moving anything forward.

02

Your team reads your mood, not your intent

When you're inconsistent, your team starts managing you instead of doing their work. They learn your patterns. They time their conversations for when you seem receptive. They soften what they tell you. You think things are fine because nothing looks broken. But the signal they're sending is that you're unpredictable.

03

Small tensions become big problems

Unresolved friction doesn't disappear. It waits. What would have taken five minutes to address earlier resurfaces as a resignation, a missed deadline, or a conversation you now have to have in a much harder room.

04

Your confidence depends on outcomes

When you don't understand your own patterns, your confidence tracks results instead of reality. A strong week feels like proof you've got it. A hard week feels like evidence you don't. You're the same leader both times. It just doesn't feel that way.

05

Trust thins out quietly

People stop telling you the full story. You get the same updates in every meeting. The same "everything's fine." And somewhere in the back of your mind you stop fully believing it, but you don't know what to do with that feeling, so you move on.

06

Patterns become your reputation

The longer this runs, the harder it is to correct. People start predicting you. You spend more energy managing perception than leading. Overcorrecting becomes its own
exhausting cycle.

Your intent stays good.ย Your impact gets unpredictable. That’s the cost of relying on instinct alone. Not a catastrophe, just a slow, invisible tax on everything you’re

trying to build.

IS THIS FOR ME?

Built for leaders in transition.

The role youโ€™re in is genuinely harder than the one before it. The skills that got you here were built for a different game. Nobody walked you through the new one.

This programme is designed for:

  • First-time people leaders finding their footing
  • Newly promoted leaders stepping into
    more responsibility
  • High performers now expected to lead others
  • Accidental leaders who got the title before
    the training caught up
  • Founders and business owners leading people for the first time
  • Entrepreneurs who are strong at building but finding the people side harder than expected

You'll recognise yourself if you've thought:

  • I'm not sure how I'm supposed to lead as myself.
  • I keep second-guessing how I come across.
  • I'm either too soft or too intense, it shifts.
  • I know what good leadership looks like. I just need to do it consistently.
  • I built the business. I just didn't expect managing people to be the hardest part.
THE MECHANISM

The shift isn't about working harder at leadership.

Here’s what’s actually happening under the surface. Stress amplifies your defaults. The way you think naturally, relate, decide, and execute gets louder under pressure, and not always in a helpful direction. The goal isnโ€™t a new personality or a new set of frameworks. Itโ€™s understanding the one you already have.

When you can name your pattern, you can adjust your response. When you can see your drift, you can correct it. When you can describe your strengths in action, you can lead with more consistency.ย Clarity creates choice.

01

Name your defaults

Understand exactly how your natural strengths show up under pressure, and when they're helping or creating drag.

02

Recognise the moment

That moment before you respond. When your tone shifts. When you go into performance mode. Learn to catch it while it's happening.

03

Lead with intention

Make a deliberate choice instead of a default reaction. Build the kind of consistency that doesn't depend on conditions being perfect.

This is what Gallup CliftonStrengths makes possible. Not as a personality test you take and file away, but as a working map of how you think, react, and lead under pressure. Used properly, it gives you the language for your patterns, your strengths in action, and what to adjust in the moments that cost you most.

That’s exactly what Instinct to Intention is built around.

The Main Programme

Instinct to Intention
4-Week Live Cohort

A 4-week live Zoom experience built around Gallup CliftonStrengths. You'll use your Top 5 results as a practical lens to understand how you operate, especially in the moments that tend to cost you most as a leader.

This isn't a course about leadership theory. Every session is built for application, meaning you leave with something you can use that week, not just something to think about.

WHAT YOU WALK AWAY WITH

Real change. Measurable in how you lead every day.

The goal was never information. It was behaviour that sticks. The kind your team feels, your decisions reflects, and your energy confirms.

Personal steadiness under pressure

You recognise your early stress signals, interrupt unhelpful defaults, and recover faster after tense interactions. Your team notices before you even have to say anything.

More reliable leadership presence

Clearer expectations. More consistent responses. Fewer mixed signals. Your team stops reading your mood and starts trusting your direction.

Cleaner, more direct people conversations

Feedback, performance issues, and boundaries become easier to address, without avoidance,
over-explaining, or emotional carryover into the
next week.

Better decisions with less delay

You make calls with better judgment and less second-guessing. Fewer repair conversations. Less rework. And the kind of clarity that stops misalignment before it starts.

The Clarity Session

One hour.
One real shift.

This isn't a webinar. It's a working session โ€” 60 minutes of live, focused work designed to give you a real taste of how the Instinct to Intention methodology applies to you.

Most people leave naming something about themselves that was always there but never visible. That naming alone tends to change something.

In this session:
  • How CliftonStrengths maps to real leadership behaviour โ€” not just personality types
  • A working framework for understanding your default patterns under stress
  • One practical tool you can use in your next tough conversation
  • Live Q&A with Gordon โ€” bring a real challenge if you have one
  • Priority access and a dedicated discount toward the full programme

No prior CliftonStrengths knowledge required. This session works as a genuine starting point โ€” not as a prerequisite.

Gordon Khoo โ€” Facilitator, Instinct to Intention
YOUR FACILITATOR

Gordon Khoo

Gordon is a certified CliftonStrengths coach and the founder of The Centre Stage. His work is built around one idea: leaders who understand themselves make better decisions, especially under pressure.

He created Instinct to Intention after working with leaders across industries who all shared the same core problem: they knew what good leadership looked like, but couldn’t explain why their impact was inconsistent.

His approach is direct, practical, and built around one belief: effective leadership comes from knowing your own patterns well enough to choose your response instead of defaulting to it.

What Participants Are Saying

Judith Perera-Lee

Gordon was great in helping us understand how the Gallup strengths can help us understand our own behaviors and motivations. He shares his stories with great enthusiasm, and the group sharings he facilitated were great at exploring how similar strengths can be expressed differently in individuals, or conversely, how similar actions can arise from different motivations. By holding space and connecting our stories, he guided us from reflecting on how we are already using these skills to how we can use them more intentionally in our everyday lives. This workshop gave me pause to see how these strengths were not just another set of labels to describe my behavior, but something I can consciously build on to help me in future interactions.

Kevin Lee

Gordon made the workshop very engaging to allow participants like myself to name our strengths, claim it, and aim to develop it further to be our superpower!

Zachary

The workshop went beyond simply understanding each Strength. It helped me clearly see how these strengths show up in my daily life, work, and behaviours. Through this process, I gained a deeper appreciation of what I do well, as well as a clearer understanding of how some of my weaknesses or shortcomings have developed. This awareness has made it much easier for me to manage them more intentionally and constructively. The level of interactivity was excellent, and seeing how consistently relevant and accurate the insights were across different individuals really reinforced the effectiveness of the workshop. Thank you for a meaningful and impactful session!

IF YOU'VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT IT

This is the right time. Here's why.

Not a certificate. Not a list of frameworks. Behavioural shift that shows up in your team, your decisions, and your energy.

12

Total seats in the May cohort. Small is intentional, this isn't a webinar, it's a working group. When it's full, it's full.

$200

Difference between Early Bird ($497) and Standard Rate ($697). The price goes up after 6 May 2026, or when the first 5 seats
are taken.

6 May

Registration closes.
The programme starts 9 May. Waiting doesn't make the decision easier, it just makes the price higher.

The problem doesn’t get better on its own. Every month you lead without this clarity is another month of unnecessary friction, with your team, with your decisions, and with yourself. This is a four-week investment that changes how you operate permanently.

QUESTIONS?

Frequently asked.

Do I need to take CliftonStrengths before joining?

No. Your Gallup CliftonStrengths Top 5 assessment is included in the programme investment, at no extra cost. You'll complete it before Session 1 starts.

What exactly is Gallup's CliftonStrengths Assessment?

CliftonStrengths is a science-backed assessment developed by Gallup that identifies your natural patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving โ€” what you instinctively do best. It doesn't tell you who to become; it reveals who you already are, giving you the language and insight to work, lead, and live with more confidence and intention.

How is this different from other personality or psychometric tests?

Most tests describe what you are โ€” your type, style, or behaviour. CliftonStrengths goes deeper, explaining why you do things the way you do and how to channel those innate talents into consistent performance. It's not about labels; it's about action. You'll walk away knowing exactly how to apply your unique strengths, not just what category you fall into.

Is this only for professionals or corporate participants?

Not at all. While many attendees are professionals or leaders, CliftonStrengths applies to anyone who wants to better understand their natural talents, whether you're a student, entrepreneur, creative, or career changer. The focus is on self-awareness, confidence, and practical action.

What if I can't make a live session?

Sessions are recorded and uploaded to the member hub after each week. The live environment creates something that the recording can't fully replace, but you won't lose access to the content if something comes up. Most participants find the recordings useful for reinforcing what they worked through in the session, not just catching up.

Is this for new leaders only, or more experienced leaders too?

Both. The content applies to anyone leading people, whether that's a team inside a company or a small crew in an early-stage business. If the gap between your intent and your impact is something you're still navigating, this is relevant. Six months or six years in, the work is the same.

Why is it limited to 12 people?

Because the learning happens in the room. The quality of insight from a cohort of 12 people is completely different from other regular webinar. Gordon works with each participant, not just at them.

Will there be any follow-up or coaching after the programme?

The programme includes a 60-minute personal 1:1 coaching session with Gordon between Sessions 2 and 4. After the programme ends, all recordings and materials stay accessible in the member hub permanently. If you want to continue working with Gordon beyond the programme, that's something you can explore directly with him.

THE DECISION

The cost of staying on default.

Every leader you admire made a deliberate choice at some point to understand themselves better. That’s not a personality trait. It’s a decision. This is yours to make.
